Dear Maison Pierre Sparr friends!
Great news ! We are very proud! Our estate won nice medals at IWC 2018!
The IWC is accepted as the world’s finest and most meticulously judged wine competition which assesses every wine blind and judges each for its faithfulness to style, region and vintage. Throughout the rigorous judging processes, each medal-winning wine is tasted on three separate occasions by at least 10 different judges and awards include medals (Trophy, Gold, Silver, Bronze) and Commended and Great Value awards.
11 wines have been awarded this year !
Gold medal and 95 points / 100 for Riesling Calcaire 2015 (soil selection : limestone)
Silver medal for Riesling Grande Réserve 2017 (93 points) and Riesling lieu-dit Altenbourg 2016 (90 points)
Bronze medal for Pinot Blanc Calcaire 2015, Riesling Grès (sandstone soil) 2016, Riesling Granit 2016, Pinot Gris Calcaire 2016, Gewurztraminer Calcaire 2016
Commended for Crémant Brut Réserve, Pinot Gris Grand Cru Mambourg 2016 and Gewurztraminer Clos Ste Odile 2016.
All those wines are not available for tasting yet, we still have former vintages for sale but you will find them soon in our tasting rooms.
We hope to see you soon in our great Region !
